John Bush: Live Book Reading and Solo Percussion Performance

THE QUEEN’S DEMISE TOUR

John Bush Solo Performance / Book Readings

John Bush, drummer and percussionist best known as a founding member of the platinum-selling band Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, is now a first-time author—and he’s hitting the road with his new book, Queen Daffodil’s Demise.

After traveling the world playing and recording with the New Bohemians—as well as legends like Bo Diddley, James Brown, Paul Simon, and Bob Weir—and establishing himself as one of Austin’s go-to percussionists with acts like The Patrice Pike Band and the legendary Greezy Wheels, John is embarking on a solo performance and book tour.

Along with readings from his novel, he’ll incorporate musical elements and spoken word pieces. His performances will feature live ambient percussion loops layered with beat-driven storytelling drawn from his own writings.

Though he’s been crafting stories since childhood, Queen Daffodil’s Demise is John’s first published literary work. It draws from a lifetime of tales and dreams—a cosmic dystopian fairytale about the power of the mind and the battle between good and evil. Available in both paperback and digital formats, it’s the perfect read for today’s world.

Each stop on The Queen’s Demise Tour will be unique. Some events will include exhibitions of John’s artwork—painted drumheads collected over his career—and select dates will feature guest appearances by longtime collaborators, including Greezy Wheels’ Cleve and Sweet Mary in Las Cruces.
